Amanda Rosborough
Dr. Amanda Rosborough, DVM

Education: Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph ’13

Dr. Rosborough was born and raised on a Purebred Limousin breeding farm outside Lakefield, Ontario, Canada. She actively participated in 4-H with her cattle and rode horses as well.

In 2006, she graduated from St. Lawrence College with her diploma in Veterinary Technology and commenced her undergraduate studies in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph. During this time, she maintained employment as a surgical veterinary technician at the veterinary teaching hospital as well as a 24-hour emergency clinic focusing on companion small & exotic pets.

Following graduation, she accepted a position as a Cow/Calf & Feedlot Consulting Veterinarian for Feedlot Health Management Services in Alberta, Canada. Over the next two years, she worked closely with feedlot operators and ranchers. In addition, she was a fully accredited CFIA veterinarian and a Provincial Meat Inspector.

Upon moving to Brazoria County, her veterinary career focus shifted as she evolved back into a companion animal predominant practice setting.

Dr. Rosborough seeks to be a well-rounded veterinarian, while striving to develop special interest skills beyond an average general practitioner’s realm.

Area’s of focus/advanced training she has or is currently pursuing include;

  • Advanced training in dentistry and oral surgery and will soon complete her Veterinary Dental Practitioner certification
  • Advanced training in small mammal dentistry and oral surgery
  • Advanced soft tissue surgery training
  • Critical Care & Internal Medicine
  • Exotic Animal Medicine and Surgery
  • Dermatology and Allergic Skin Disease Management

She passionately enjoys educating and training her team and aspiring veterinary professionals. She strives to practice evidence-based, standard-of-care medicine while working with families to achieve their medical and financial goals for their pet’s care.

Though her main day-to-day practice life involves a primarily small animal and exotics caseload, her large animal passions haven’t entirely left the building. She still provides routine services for area livestock producers and is even known to foal out a mini-horse dystocia or reduce a uterine prolapse when the need arises.

Dr. Rosborough is an active member of the following professional associations:

AVMA, TVMA, AABP, AAV, AEMV, ARAV and is a Low Stress Handling® Certified – Silver practitioner.

Our doctors enjoy the variety of cases we see each and every day. From dogs and cats, to turtles, parrots, cows and horses. It makes each day new and sometimes challenging, but always rewarding and just plain fun! Dr. Amy Weir’s passion for veterinary medicine incorporates this mindset, along with a strong desire to build lasting relationships with our clients and their pets.

Dr. Weir joined us in June 2018 after graduating from Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences. Originally from Bridge City, TX, she completed a degree in Biology at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, OK prior to attending OSU. She now calls Lake Jackson home along with her husband Josh, daughter, Aubrey and son, Luke.

Dr. Amy enjoys the bonds she builds getting to know her patients and clients through wellness and preventative care and through the tough times when our pets are ill. She also enjoys the challenges and creativity required by practicing exotic animal medicine, in addition to soft tissue surgery and small animal internal medicine. Sharing the Weir household are 3 pups (Paisley, Sheldon and Briar), one rabbit (Mullins), a multitude of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates and two horses (Blitz and Aspen). Managers

Aime
Aimee, CVA, Practice Manager

Veterinary Medicine is a profession that brings both joy and challenges. Those who genuinely embrace these highs and lows run into situations where their teammates need them most to succeed, thrive, and continuously grow. Aimee is that teammate and leader within our clinics. Aimee hails from around the corner in Sweeny, TX, and calls it home to this day. She can always be relied upon by her colleagues to help out when the going gets tough and is an attentive and compassionate patient advocate. She excels at client relations and helping keep the clinic running behind the scenes. As inventory manager, she excels at locating the hard-to-find or back-ordered items that support our ship afloat. As a head technician, she is always keen to learn new skills and clinical techniques to improve patient care. She is a Certified Veterinary Assistant as well as a Certified Low-Stress Handler. When not at the clinic, she can be found alongside her husband, John, with two mini-me’s (Carrie and Jarrod) tagging along close behind. They’ll often be spotted at youth baseball games, Sweeny FFA Alumni events, or taking in a Hill Country Wine Tour. They share their home with a Dachshund (Heidi), a Cocker Spaniel (Miley), and a cuddly kitty (Yowlzer).

Rachael

All teams need a mother hen who shares in their laughter, and tears and most importantly knows when to give a good eye roll when her team is up to no good. Rachael joined our family from Pearland, TX, and didn’t miss a beat. She is a cheerful, professional, and outgoing team player who excels at client communications and office workflow. She loves the WPVC team for the family-like environment and knows that everyone is always willing to help each other out. She loves working in vet med specifically in that it allows her to see pets progress from start to finish on their healthcare journey. The bonds and relationships that are built with clients and their pets also bring her fulfillment. She shares her home with 2 Dachshunds (Oscar & Rolo) as well as a Bloodhound (Ellie Me).
