Before you vaccinate your pets, be sure to discuss your location and your pets’ lifestyles with our staff and your veterinarian. There are a lot of different vaccinations, but not every pet necessarily needs to have every one of them. Core vaccinations like rabies and distemper are necessary for all pets. Others such as Bordetella, Lyme disease, or Rattlesnake Vaccine may not be necessary if your pet is of low risk.
When you come in for vaccines, it also gives us a chance to make sure your pets are doing well overall. If you have any concerns about your pets’ health, we can discuss them at your visit. We only want to vaccinate fit and healthy animals. Animals that may be developing underlying health issues or infections may need to have these issues addressed prior to proceeding with vaccination.
If you are considering testing your animal to determine their vaccine titers rather than proceeding immediately with vaccinations, we can help you with that. There are pro’s and con’s to titer testing, so be sure to discuss this option with your veterinarian.
